How long are you willing to wait to make the change you’ve been dreaming of?
Hours become days… days become weeks… weeks become years…
Before you know it, a decade has flashed by, and you’re still in the same place.
A lot of folks think there isn’t a magic button you can push to change your life.
But this is pretty close.
When It All Clicked
I just got a question that has me fired up. In fact, I stopped my run, my trail run, right in the middle because this question got me so fired up.
We just released registration for our PLF Live Workshop. It's an amazing workshop, three days long. This isn’t a free webinar or something like that.
This is an actual workshop where we design launches. You walk in the door with an idea, and three days later, you walk out with your launch plan done, including a lot of the copy.
It's amazing. I've been doing it every year since 2010. We've got case studies & success stories more than I can count.
So this is what happened exactly. We sent an email out to everyone, saying, “Hey, you can go register.”
And then, this question came into my customer service team: “How long do I have to decide? When do I have to commit to this?”
The Moment of Truth
I get it, that's a great question. Sometimes, we need time to think. But here’s the thing..
What I've noticed over the years is that change happens the moment you make the decision.
The moment you click that registration button is when the change starts. As soon as you make that commitment to move forward, that's when growth starts.
If you're reading this, I assume you want to succeed in a greater way at some level. If you want to change your circumstances, it will come down to the habits you create, the coaching you get, and the learning you absorb.
The time to act is now.
Why let a day become a week, and a week become a month, and a month become a year, and a year become a decade?
Suddenly, it's 10 years later, and nothing's changed in your life.
The change begins now if you decide that it begins now.
What’s holding you back?
Fear of failure? Lack of knowledge? Overwhelming choices?
Every successful entrepreneur has faced these doubts and fears. The only difference is that they made the decision to act.
It’s normal to be afraid of failure. That nagging voice that whispers, “What if I mess up?” is familiar to everyone.
However, failure is not the end. It’s just a detour, a lesson wrapped in a tough package, guiding you to a better path. When you think about how to start a business, remember that fear is just a hurdle, not a stop sign.
Feeling like you lack knowledge is another common barrier. But every expert was once a beginner. Knowledge can be gained, skills can be learned.
The steps to start a small business are out there, waiting for you to discover them.
Commit to learning every single day. The information you need is within reach through books, online courses, or mentors. You just have to reach out and grab it.
The choices can be overwhelming. Starting a business can feel like countless paths stretching out before you.
But there’s no single “right” path. Successful entrepreneurs didn’t wait for the perfect moment or the perfect plan. They picked a direction and started walking.
They learned and adapted along the way. Opening a business is about making a choice and committing to it. It’s about taking that first step, even when you’re unsure of the path ahead.
Steps to Entrepreneurial Freedom
You’ve decided it’s now or never. You’re ready to take the plunge & start your own business. But where do you begin?
Let’s break it down into manageable steps.
1. Decide on Your Business Idea
What are you passionate about? Your business should be something you love, something you can see yourself doing every day. It’s not just about building something meaningful.
2. Research Your Market
Understand your competitors. What are they doing well, and where are they falling short? Find your unique selling point. What makes your business different? This research is your foundation.
3. Create a Launch Plan
Outline your goals, define your target market, and make realistic financial projections. Your launch plan is your roadmap, guiding your decisions and helping you stay focused.
4. Get the Necessary Permits and Licenses
Ensure you’re legally compliant. Understand what’s required for your industry and get everything in order. Missing a crucial permit can shut you down.
5. Build Your Brand
Your brand is more than a logo or a name. It’s the story you tell and the promise you make to your customers. Create something memorable that resonates with your target audience.
6. Launch Your Business
Use your plan, research, and brand to open your doors & put your offer out into the world. This is the big step, but with preparation, you’re ready. Show the world what you’ve created.
Sure, there’s hard work involved. It’s not magic. You have to follow through. But it’s amazing how things start to align when you make that decision. Your energy starts moving forward.
If you fail.. what’s the worst that can happen?
You learn something new. You meet like-minded individuals. You gain insights that you wouldn’t have otherwise.
But there is a high chance you will change your life. You achieve your dreams. You start living the life you’ve always wanted.
The moment you decide that your success is inevitable, that’s when things start to happen.
Seize Your Moment
Starting a business is daunting, no doubt about it. But the change starts the moment you decide to act.
It’s not about waiting for the perfect time, it’s about making now your time.
So, here’s the deal…
Whether you’re figuring out how to start a business, taking the steps to start a small business, or opening a business for the first time, you’re on the brink of something amazing.
Your future isn’t shaped by what you’re thinking about doing someday. It’s shaped by what you do today. Make the decision that your success is inevitable.
Remember, your energy moves forward the moment you decide it does. Don’t let another day slip by.
The time to act is now. Your future self will thank you.
