Let's talk about AI…
Everyone is talking about it and, in my opinion, it’s clear that AI is going to be a complete game-changer. In fact, I think that’s putting it mildly…
I don’t think we can't even begin to understand the impact AI is going to have in our industry.
AI is evolving at an astonishing pace, with new tools emerging on a daily basis. And though the direction it will head is still uncertain, I can assure you that it’s impact will be enormous.
I've been involved in online business since 1996, so I’ve seen a lot of trends and fads come and go, including the arrival of blogs, Google, social media, and mobile technology.
However, these are nothing compared to the potential effect of AI.
In this blog post, I’m going to address three important consequences of AI – specifically, one potential concern and two major strengths.
Firstly, let's consider a big worry a lot of business owners have – that AI is going to increase competition.
If you've got an online business with a membership site, an online course, or a coaching program, you'll probably have noticed that competition has already intensified significantly, particularly due to the effects of the pandemic.
Now, with the ability to use AI to generate endless articles, blog posts, video scripts, and courses quickly and effortlessly, I predict competition will skyrocket even faster. This competition will impact your business in various ways – getting your audience’s attention, building an email list, and generating sales will be more challenging than ever.
To thrive in this emerging landscape, we need to evolve our marketing skills as AI grows, so we can make use of the new technology and leverage its full potential.
Now, let’s explore some of AI’s strengths…
First, AI is super-useful at getting past the “blank page” problem. If you struggle coming up with content ideas, such as articles, emails, videos, or courses, AI is going to make your life a lot easier.
Instead of staring at the flashing cursor, you can ask ChatGPT to create your content for you. So all you have to do is rewrite it to make sure it matches your own voice and style. And that's important because it's YOUR voice that will help you stand out from the competition.
Second, you can feed information about your ideal client or avatar into AI software to gain extra insights into your customers thoughts, pain points, and desires. You can then use these insights in your marketing to connect with your audience on a deeper level, so you get more customers.
The ability to understand your audience's hopes, dreams, fears, and frustrations and enter into the conversation happening in their minds has always been – and always WILL be – a marketer's greatest superpower. ChatGPT and other AI tools can help you take this skill to the next level pretty much automatically.
As you can see, even though many business owners worry about AI intensifying competition, by keeping an ear to the ground and integrating AI, we don’t have anything to fear. In fact, we should welcome it. By helping us create more meaningful content and marketing, AI helps us connect with more perfect clients.
I’ll be exploring even more of AI's potential at this year’s PLF Live™ workshop, my annual workshop I’ve been running since 2010. I'll be showing thousands entrepreneurs how they can use ChatGPT and other software to revolutionize the way they launch.
