Has this ever happened to you? You have a big idea or an expertise you want to turn into an online product, but you don’t know where to begin. What you may need to hear first is, you don’t have to take this entrepreneurial journey alone. There are experts in growing a business that you can share lessons with you that you can apply to your business strategy. Here are some tried and tested business growth strategies:

Build Your Email List

One of the best ways of growing a business is to build an email list. And it’s not just about collecting names – nurturing your relationship with the real people behind the addresses is just as significant. Offering unique value to your readers is a great way to get them to give you their email–an ebook, or an infographic. Hang out a magnet to draw emails to you.

When your subscribers feel that you truly care about them, they’ll return the love.. They won’t feel the need to unsubscribe because you have a relationship. Giving them freebies and exclusive discounts from time to time doesn’t hurt either.

Deliver Results

What’s harder than making sales is actually providing results for your clients. To get sales you need two things: a marketing strategy that actually works and draws in customers, and second, you need a product that they will love.

Marketers need to be cautious about making wild promises if there’s a danger that they can’t deliver on them. You should be able to underpromise and overdeliver. And if “underpromise” sounds like a bad word, then just realize that “underpromising” means giving good ideas and “overdeliver” means “really amazing results”.

Interact with Your Target Market

Understanding your target market’s wants, pain points, and desired solutions will help you create (or improve) products that will appeal to that audience.

You can ask for comments and feedback through social media, online communities, and email, among other places. Running surveys is one great way to listen to your audience and it can help you avoid the mistake of making products nobody wants.

Evolve and Reinvent

There’s no such thing as a perfect product, and waiting to develop one will only breed procrastination. You can always make improvements along the way as you learn what your market wants.

And you need to constantly be refining your process and product. The market changes as quickly as the weather and what works one quarter may not work the next. Always stay nimble and make sure that you’re constantly looking to the future.

Tap Into the Masters

Seek advice or mentorship from someone who has a proven track record and formula for business growth success. Learning from experts will be especially beneficial for you if you're just starting out and aren't sure what to do… but it can be a good shortcut no matter how far along you are in your business.
