Imagine this: You’re standing at the edge of a beach, the waves gently rolling in. There’s a secret path, one that not everyone knows about, but it leads to something incredible. Now, what if I told you that marketing has its own secret path? And today, I’m going to walk you down that path.

After 30 years in the marketing game, starting from nothing and growing into something beyond my wildest dreams. I’ve coached thousands of entrepreneurs & guided over a million people through my training.

But if there’s one lesson that stands out, one word that might surprise you, it’s this: empathy.

The Word You Didn’t Expect

So, I was at this coffee shop, and I overheard someone talking about marketing as one of the “dark arts.” That kind of caught me off guard because, to me, marketing is anything but dark.

Marketing is amazing because it gives you the power to position whatever you have to offer in a way that invites people to step into it and change their lives.

Now, you might be thinking, “Empathy? What does that have to do with marketing?” But here’s the thing – if you don’t have empathy, you’ll never be a great marketer. You’ll never be a great salesperson.

Empathy is the key to understanding where your clients are right now, and what’s going on in their minds.

Entering the Conversation in Their Minds

There’s this famous line from John Caples, who was a legendary copywriter about a century ago. He said, You have to enter the conversation that’s already going on in your customer’s mind. That’s where empathy becomes your superpower.

Whether you’re teaching tennis, meditation, or launching a new product, you need to step into the shoes of your audience.

What are their hopes? Their dreams? Their fears? What are they struggling with? Where do they want to go? Who do they want to become?

When you understand that, you’re not just offering them a product, you’re offering them a solution to what’s been keeping them up at night. And that’s what great digital marketing is all about.

Speaking to Your Audience

Every time you send an email, create a video, or post on social media, ask yourself: where are they at? How is this going to land for them?

Remember, most of the people who see your message aren’t going to be your ideal clients. But for those that are? They’re going to feel like you’re speaking directly to them. Empathy allows you to connect on a deeper level with the people who need what you have to offer.

Now, here’s something that’s often overlooked…

The First Person You Have to Market to Is Yourself

Anytime you’re about to create something big, whether it’s an offer, a business, or a whole new direction – you’ve got to sell yourself on it first.

That’s your first job in marketing your business. You’ve got to be 100% convinced of what you’re bringing to the world. You need to have that passion, that energy, that drive. Because when you believe in what you’re offering, that belief becomes contagious. And it will show in your marketing.

Wrapping It All Up

So, here’s the deal – marketing is more than just a tool. It’s a gift. It’s your chance to connect with people, to understand where they’re at, and to offer them something that can change their lives. But to do that, you need to lead with empathy.

Get good at understanding what’s going on in the mind of your ideal client. And remember, before you can sell to anyone else, you need to sell to yourself first.

But empathy is just one piece of the puzzle. The real magic happens when you combine it with a proven strategy – a strategy that’s been at the core of my success and the success of thousands of others. It's the Launch Formula that has generated over $1 BILLION in sales across every market imaginable.
